upcoming events for 2026
coffee and doughnut day
On April 18th, we will gather from 9:00am to 11:00 am on the 5300 block of Wayne to enjoy coffee and donuts together. Welcome the spring by bringing your empty coffee mug and come share a cup of joe, donut(s) and conversation with your neighbors.
cleanup day
On the morning of May 2nd (9:00 am), we will gather at the corner of Lakewood and Balmoral and share refreshments before heading to our own block or elsewhere to "clean-up" our streets, corners, traffic circles, etc. We'll also be planting new plants and spreading mulch where appropriate. Contact Mark Roschen and your Block Rep to express interest in participating
plant swap
Each summer, our local gardeners gather for a morning to swap plants and tools. They also will sometimes be spoiled by a short talk by a local Master Gardener. Stay tuned for this summer's date.
block parties
From June through September, each of our 12 blocks hosts an all-day party for residents on their street and their guests. Parties typically include potluck bbq's, live music, bouncy houses, water slides, etc. Click on this link to access a current listing of dates.
ice cream social
Each summer, our residents enjoy an evening's special ice cream treat together. Typically, involves hosting an ice cream truck for an hour or two. Come out and join your neighbors. Stay tuned for this summer's date.
yard sale
On September 5th, our neighborhood will host its popular, all-day "LBRC Yard Sale." We receive thousands of visitors and potential buyers throughout the day. It's a great time to clean out the attic and the garage and to make new friends and a couple of bucks.
